County Areas (eff. 1/09)

Victor Valley Animal Protective League is NO LONGER housing animals found in "County" areas. Strays & Owner Turn In pets will need to go to the proper location. (Dogs) Dog's Day Inn Shelter located in Apple Valley (961-7535). (Cats) Hesperia Animal Control (947-1700). For Animal Control & Service you will need to contact them directly at 800-472-5609.

 
AKC Dog Show

Apple Valley AKC usually does a dog show along with obedience. Check out the Daily Press' special pet section that comes out in February for the date. Usually mid-end of March. Held at Victor Valley College.

 
Pet Expo - Orange County

Usually mid April: Pet Expo in Costa Mesa @ the Fairgrounds. Hundreds of vendors, rescues, and just lots of things to see! Click Here for Details!

Adopt a Cat Month! Check out your local shelters... they should be flooded with cats & kittens desperately seeking homes!

Month of October

Adopt a Shelter Dog Month! Anytime is a good time to adopt a shelter dog, but this month is specially dedicated to finding that perfect furry fido to take home! Check your shelters for any special events!

Adopt a Senior Pet Month! Seniors need love too!! They can give back just as much love as those spunky young ones! They are usually housebroken, have basic manners, aren't as hyper and likely to chew things, and have years of practice giving unconditional love! Check out your shelter for a senior near you! Puppy "Sellers"

If you see someone selling puppies/kittens, you can report them. If you see someone selling/giving away puppies/dogs do the following: If it is DURING business hours, contact the proper Animal Control. If it is AFTER business hours, contact Sheriff's Dispatch at 760-245-4211. Your information will NOT be given to the people you report; it is confidential.
